Prince Charming

The skies whisper to me
Of wonderous dreams
Singing breathless kisses and tenderness,
Desperate farewells
They hum the melodies of love.

They echo across this infinite land
Of possibilities
That I refuse to hear.

For no man,
Be he titan or king
Posesses strength or conviction enough
To scale the impenetrable walls of my heart

My heart,
Which wants so deeply to be unearthed.
And my mind,
Which will not allow it to be.

Like sleeping beauty
Within her death-kissed slumber,
All who attempt to break the curse
Quickly fail and die.

Have I slain my prince charming?
